Please share this with EVERYONE! I contracted polio at age 5 in 1951. I use a respirator to breathe 24/7 and a motorized wheelchair to get around. I drive my ramp-equipped minivan and give workshops on writing, computers, and art for people with disabilities. I have sold my artwork, plays, poems, articles and short stories, and Ive had a number of my books published, including: The Night-Light Zone: Short Stories To Read With The Night Light On; The Stuff Nightmares Are Made Of: More Short Stories To Read With The Night Light On; Hollywood Homicide: A Harry Apple Mystery; A Child Of The Holocaust: A Non-Survivors Story Of Survival; The Whacking Of Maddy Exotica: A Sci-Fi Satire; Two-Character Plays For Student Actors; On Stage!; Sucking Air, Doing wheelies: Memoirs of a Fifties Polio Survivor (my autobiography); and The Landscape of My Disability in Original Poems and Paintings. My artwork has been exhibited in my local public library, at Hofstra University, at The Long Island Center for Independent Living, and at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital. My artwork has also been used on greeting cards.
